This comprehensive course is designed to provide CPAs with an in-depth understanding of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and their implications. Participants will gain practical knowledge and skills necessary to navigate M&A transactions successfully, avoid detrimental outcomes, and maximize value and wealth for their organizations. The course covers various topics, including the importance of familiarity with M&A, definitions and types of M&A, tax treatment, valuation, considerations in M&A, cross-border transactions, documentation and paperwork, transaction structuring and compliance, strategic planning, and post-acquisition integration. CPAs will also explore key provisions and regulations in the Income Tax Act and transfer pricing rules.

In my most recent position, as Vice President General Manager and Partner of The Cheese Steak Shop, I purchased a bankrupt company and transformed it into a profitable venture within six months. I implemented an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution to streamline operations for timely intelligence and optimal performance and efficiency. I work closely with cross-functional managers to identify business needs and objectives to formulate strategies and allocate resources to increase market share and cash flow. Also, I develop cost-saving initiatives to eliminate redundancies and strengthen control.
