About This Course

The economic turmoil brought by the COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a wave of distressed companies. Because of today’s chaotic economic landscape, these distressed companies need to be more well-versed in dealing with their debts and obligations. With the unprecedented challenges of managing distressed debts in the backdrop, both lenders and creditors will need to explore available options such as restructurings and workouts with increased prudence.

A thorough understanding of how to implement restructurings and workouts can help businesses amplify their chances of a successful loan renegotiation. Businesses should also continuously reassess their financial status and keep their communication with their lenders open.

In this CLE Webcast, bankruptcy and restructuring experts Kirk B. Burkley (Bernstein-Burkley, P.C.) and Mark Podgainy (Getzler Henrich & Associates LLC) will provide a practical guide on how companies can navigate the various issues surrounding distressed debt, restructurings, and workouts. Speakers will also present tactics that can be utilized to manage and avoid risks in the workout process.

Instead, individual CPAs are responsible for assessing whether a CPD activity meets their requirements, and may take activities from any source provided those requirements are met.

Every course offered on LearnFormula is delivered by a qualified subject matter expert or learning organization, and advances learning objectives that are relevant to the responsibilities or professional competencies of Canadian CPAs. All activities on LearnFormula are quantifiable in terms of hours, and are also verifiable, in that users receive documented evidence of their attendance via a certificate of completion after finishing a course (and this certificate is stored by LearnFormula indefinitely). Nearly 100,000 Canadian CPAs successfully satisfy their CPD requirements via LearnFormula on an annual basis.
