Allen didn’t start out in recruiting. His first career was in investment analytics for private equity firms, but then he got the chance to take on a people & culture and recruiting role and he never looked back! He’s recruited for multiple industries – everything from construction to financial services – and says it’s “putting the puzzle pieces together” that he finds the most rewarding. Like when he matches the perfect person to one of our Assurance, Tax and Advisory roles and it’s a win-win for everyone. He loves the thrill of the hunt that comes with recruiting. Plus, it fulfills his intrinsic desire to learn about other people – connecting with them, learning about their passions, and discovering what makes them thrive. And he loves doing the same for internal clients – finding ways to help our colleagues thrive, what their work is like, and who would be the best fit for their teams. So it’s no wonder doing puzzles is a favourite pastime for Allen (even if his wife, Sara, is the one who got him started!). He also loves trying new foods, especially if it’s something he’s never eaten before, is in season or just interesting. Like fugu, or blowfish, which he’s tried and really liked! And his family and friends are super lucky because Allen loves recreating his favourite dishes at home almost as much as he enjoys trying them in restaurants. Even if it means he’s acquired a remarkable collection of cooking utensils.
Provincial regulators of CPAs in Canada do not require that independent providers of CPD be approved to offer courses. Instead, individual CPAs are responsible for assessing whether a CPD activity meets their requirements, and may take activities from any source provided those requirements are met.
Every course offered on LearnFormula is delivered by a qualified subject matter expert or learning organization, and advances learning objectives that are relevant to the responsibilities or professional competencies of Canadian CPAs. All activities on LearnFormula are quantifiable in terms of hours, and are also verifiable, in that users receive documented evidence of their attendance via a certificate of completion after finishing a course (and this certificate is stored by LearnFormula indefinitely). Nearly 100,000 Canadian CPAs successfully satisfy their CPD requirements via LearnFormula on an annual basis.
