Dr. Carlene Blackwood-Brown holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems with a concentration in Information Security/Cybersecurity, an MSc. in Management Information Systems, a BSc. in Management Studies, and a certificate in Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age. She is an Adjunct Professor of Information Systems-related courses at Sheridan & Seneca Colleges, as well as, a free-lance Instructor of Cybersecurity courses at the LIFE Institute at Ryerson University. Carlene is passionate about research and work in the human-centric areas of cybersecurity, and thus delivers her courses in a non-technical way so that business professionals can understand and relate. She is also an avid believer in teaching and life-long learning and is a key contributor on curriculum teams responsible for course redesign as well as textbook selections. Carlene is the Director and Cybersecurity Consultant at Technologically Speaking Inc. (TSI), a cybersecurity and technology consulting company that focuses on the technical needs of organizations and individuals. Provincial regulators of CPAs in Canada do not require that independent providers of CPD be approved to offer courses. Instead, individual CPAs are responsible for assessing whether a CPD activity meets their requirements, and may take activities from any source provided those requirements are met.
