What is cybersecurity, why it is important, how it affects you, and your devices; How you can assess your vulnerability to cyber-attacks; How to understand and own your role in cybersecurity.

Cybersecurity now affects everyone, but not everyone fully understands what it is, and how it impacts them. Simply put, if you use the Internet and devices that are connected to it, you have a role to play to protect yourselves and devices while online. Due to the pervasive nature of cybersecurity, we can no longer ignore it and say that it is not our responsibility, otherwise, it can have devastating effects on our everyday lives. Therefore, let us embrace it by learning about its good and bad sides. This foundation course takes the soft non-technical approach and is a great way for you to understand and own your role in cybersecurity. You will then become excited and motivated as you start the journey to learn how to better protect yourselves, your families, your homes, your workplaces, and your devices while online. Cybersecurity is exciting – we just need to understand it, and that is what this course is all about!

Provincial regulators of CPAs in Canada do not require that independent providers of CPD be approved to offer courses. Instead, individual CPAs are responsible for assessing whether a CPD activity meets their requirements, and may take activities from any source provided those requirements are met.
Every course offered on LearnFormula is delivered by a qualified subject matter expert or learning organization, and advances learning objectives that are relevant to the responsibilities or professional competencies of Canadian CPAs. All activities on LearnFormula are quantifiable in terms of hours, and are also verifiable, in that users receive documented evidence of their attendance via a certificate of completion after finishing a course (and this certificate is stored by LearnFormula indefinitely). Nearly 100,000 Canadian CPAs successfully satisfy their CPD requirements via LearnFormula on an annual basis.
