Students will learn the same tips and tricks I used to score major media coverage in publications such as Fast Company, Forbes, Inc., CNN Money and Parents Magazine and even on "Good Morning America".

Have you ever read a magazine, scrolled a website, or watched the news and wondered, “Why are they featuring my competitor — not me?” If so, this course is your behind-the-scenes access to what it really takes to get noticed by the media.
Led by Dr. Amanda Holdsworth, APR — founder of Courses for Communicators — this course shares the same PR strategies that helped her land media features in Forbes, Fast Company, CNN Money, USA Today, Parents Magazine, and even Good Morning America. With 20+ years of experience in public relations, Amanda breaks down her approach using tools that are simple, accessible, and often completely free.
You don’t need to be a full-time PR pro or hire an expensive agency. In this course, you’ll learn how to build your brand’s visibility, establish credibility as an expert, and start gaining real media traction.

PR, marketing and communications skills development
Dr. Amanda Holdsworth, APR, founder of Courses for Communicator, spent close to 20 years as a communications and PR director before becoming a full-time assistant professor and course designer. She initially became a professor because she had a strong desire to help train future communications professionals in the skills she knew they needed, as well as in the ones she had seen hundreds of job candidates lack. The problem? Much of the content Amanda was asked to teach was dated, so she began creating her own courses and trainings centered on things communicators and entrepreneurs need not only in their roles now, but to succeed in their careers tomorrow. Originally from Canada, Amanda now lives in the U.S. with her family. She earned both a Master of Arts in Strategic Public Relations and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California. She's earned 24 industry awards for her work in PR and marketing, has spoken at conferences around the world and has been featured in publications such as Forbes, Inc., Fast Company and Parents Magazine. Courses for Communicators programs have been developed and tested by teams of professional communicators before they are officially launched.
Provincial regulators of CPAs in Canada do not require that independent providers of CPD be approved to offer courses. Instead, individual CPAs are responsible for assessing whether a CPD activity meets their requirements, and may take activities from any source provided those requirements are met.
Every course offered on LearnFormula is delivered by a qualified subject matter expert or learning organization, and advances learning objectives that are relevant to the responsibilities or professional competencies of Canadian CPAs. All activities on LearnFormula are quantifiable in terms of hours, and are also verifiable, in that users receive documented evidence of their attendance via a certificate of completion after finishing a course (and this certificate is stored by LearnFormula indefinitely). Nearly 100,000 Canadian CPAs successfully satisfy their CPD requirements via LearnFormula on an annual basis.
