Learn many of Excel’s advanced tools for analyzing and reporting on your data
Excel 365 gives experienced users a set of tools that reach beyond basic formulas and formatting into automated analysis and dynamic reporting. Dynamic array functions let a single formula return results across a range of cells, and newer lookup and filtering functions such as XLOOKUP and FILTER pull and arrange data while leaving the original source intact. Combined with data validation, controls, and interactive filters, these features let practitioners build workbooks that stay accurate and update themselves as the underlying data changes. This course brings those capabilities together for users who already work comfortably in Excel and want to handle larger datasets efficiently and with greater accuracy.
The program works through advanced functions including SORTBY, MATCH, INDEX, SUMIFS, CONCAT, RANDARRAY, FILTER, and XLOOKUP, along with the criteria-based family of SUMIFS, AVERAGEIFS, MAXIFS, and MINIFS. It shows how to bring external data into a workbook through the Text Import Wizard and the comma separated values (CSV) format, and how to keep that data consistent using data validation. Participants add interactivity with slicers, timelines, and form controls, and present results through radar, combo, and dual axis charts. The course also covers building reusable templates, recording and running macros while accounting for the security risks of code from outside sources, and formatting PivotTables. It closes with guidance on accessibility checking, keyboard shortcuts, and the recording habits that keep a workbook accurate.
Learning Objectives
This course is designed for experienced Excel users working in Microsoft 365. It assumes familiarity with basic formulas, formatting, and PivotTables, and reflects the features available in the 2025 version of the application.
