Accounting Professor at Humber College
Ionela Bacain joined Humber College in 2010 as an Accounting Professor at Business School. Prior to this she held positions in Accounting Department at Huawei Technologies. In her role as an Accounts Receivable Team Leader, Ionela contributed significantly to the growth of the Accounts Receivable function through her accounting knowledge, training expertise and her diligence in solving problems. Ionela, completed her PhD in Accounting at Cuza University, Iasi, Romania. During the doctoral program for five years Ionela performed various research activities in accounting with an outcome of over 20 scientific articles published and presented in conferences and symposiums. Ionela completed a research scholarship at Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg in Germany. Ionela has more than 10 years of teaching experience in the university and college environment with extensive practical accounting experience. She taught a variety of courses in accounting field: management accounting, financial accounting, computerized accounting and corporate tax. Ionela is an ACCA and CPA designated accountant and she likes to create confidence, to inspire and motivate people and share good life experiences. Ionela is a certified Yoga instructor and holds a certificate in positive psychology being committed to apply both in her professional life.
Provincial regulators of CPAs in Canada do not require that independent providers of CPD be approved to offer courses. Instead, individual CPAs are responsible for assessing whether a CPD activity meets their requirements, and may take activities from any source provided those requirements are met.
