Master the legal and ethical tightrope of using AI to transform your HR operations without compromising compliance.

As artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT become increasingly integrated into professional workflows, understanding their legal and ethical implications is essential. This session explores the responsible use of generative AI, focusing on key issues such as data privacy, intellectual property ownership, bias, accuracy, and transparency. Participants will examine how regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation shape the way organizations handle information when using AI tools, and what safeguards should be in place to protect sensitive data.
The program also addresses practical challenges associated with AI-generated content, including copyright risks, verification of AI outputs, and the importance of human oversight in decision-making. In addition, it highlights ethical considerations such as mitigating bias, maintaining transparency about AI use, and preventing harmful applications like misinformation or discriminatory content. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how to leverage generative AI responsibly while maintaining compliance, protecting stakeholders, and building trust in AI-supported processes.

Provincial regulators of CPAs in Canada do not require that independent providers of CPD be approved to offer courses. Instead, individual CPAs are responsible for assessing whether a CPD activity meets their requirements, and may take activities from any source provided those requirements are met.
Every course offered on LearnFormula is delivered by a qualified subject matter expert or learning organization, and advances learning objectives that are relevant to the responsibilities or professional competencies of Canadian CPAs. All activities on LearnFormula are quantifiable in terms of hours, and are also verifiable, in that users receive documented evidence of their attendance via a certificate of completion after finishing a course (and this certificate is stored by LearnFormula indefinitely). Nearly 100,000 Canadian CPAs successfully satisfy their CPD requirements via LearnFormula on an annual basis.
