About This Course

Many organisations invest heavily in learning management systems (LMS), yet struggle to achieve meaningful learning outcomes, sustained engagement, or measurable improvements in workplace performance. Simply delivering online content is rarely enough to change behaviour or develop capability. To maximise learning impact, organisations must move beyond viewing the LMS as a content repository and create learning experiences that encourage application, accountability, and continuous development.

This practical course explores why many LMS implementations fail to deliver their intended value and examines strategies for building a more effective workplace learning ecosystem. Participants will learn how to increase learner engagement, strengthen manager involvement, embed learning into everyday work, and create development programs that drive lasting behavioural and organisational outcomes.

Key Topics Discussed:

  • Why many LMS platforms fail to drive behaviour change and performance
  • The difference between content consumption and effective workplace learning
  • Common organisational barriers to successful LMS implementation
  • Creating learning experiences that promote engagement and application
  • The role of managers in supporting workplace learning
  • Embedding learning into the flow of work
  • Building accountability and reinforcement into learning programs
  • Integrating technology, coaching, practice, and feedback
  • Measuring learning effectiveness and performance outcomes
  • Developing a holistic learning ecosystem beyond the LMS

Credit Information

Is this course eligible for my CPD requirements as a Canadian CPA?

Provincial regulators of CPAs in Canada do not require that independent providers of CPD be approved to offer courses. Instead, individual CPAs are responsible for assessing whether a CPD activity meets their requirements, and may take activities from any source provided those requirements are met.

Every course offered on LearnFormula is delivered by a qualified subject matter expert or learning organization, and advances learning objectives that are relevant to the responsibilities or professional competencies of Canadian CPAs. All activities on LearnFormula are quantifiable in terms of hours, and are also verifiable, in that users receive documented evidence of their attendance via a certificate of completion after finishing a course (and this certificate is stored by LearnFormula indefinitely). Nearly 100,000 Canadian CPAs successfully satisfy their CPD requirements via LearnFormula on an annual basis.
