Provincial regulators of CPAs in Canada do not require that independent providers of CPD be approved to offer courses. Instead, individual CPAs are responsible for assessing whether a CPD activity meets their requirements, and may take activities from any source provided those requirements are met.
Every course offered on LearnFormula is delivered by a qualified subject matter expert or learning organization, and advances learning objectives that are relevant to the responsibilities or professional competencies of Canadian CPAs. All activities on LearnFormula are quantifiable in terms of hours, and are also verifiable, in that users receive documented evidence of their attendance via a certificate of completion after finishing a course (and this certificate is stored by LearnFormula indefinitely). Nearly 100,000 Canadian CPAs successfully satisfy their CPD requirements via LearnFormula on an annual basis.
You already know what you need to do. The bundle collapses every step into one purchase.
Structured around your CPD requirements.
Most providers issue you a stack of 5 separate PDFs. We issue one consolidated certificate that lists every topic, hours per topic, and totals — exactly what your professional body needs to file. Per-course certificates are still available if you prefer.
Each course is a standalone module.
The Complete Guide to Risk and Internal Controls is a comprehensive training series designed to build practical knowledge and skills across the full risk and internal control lifecycle.
The series begins with the foundations of Enterprise Risk Management and risk assessment, helping learners connect objectives to risks, identify and organize risks, assess likelihood and impact, and determine inherent risk. From there, learners build a strong foundation in internal controls, including how controls work, how they are classified, and the major frameworks that support an effective system of internal control.
The series then moves into designing and evaluating internal controls, with a focus on writing clear control descriptions, linking controls to risks, identifying gaps and overlap, and building Risk & Control Matrices. Learners also develop practical skills for testing control design and operating effectiveness, selecting testing methods and samples, writing effective test steps, using data analytics, evaluating potential exceptions, and reaching supportable conclusions.
The final portion of the series brings everything together by examining residual risk, risk response, control deficiencies, root cause analysis, corrective action, and fraud risk. Learners consider what risk remains after controls are evaluated, why controls may fail, how to identify meaningful root causes, and how intentional misconduct, override, and collusion change the internal control picture.
Together, the courses provide a practical, connected approach to understanding risk and internal controls from the big picture through detailed evaluation, testing, and improvement.
